Drape is private by default.
Your selfies and garment photos are analyzed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we never see or store them.
To find your colors, Drape uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect where your face is in a photo you provide, then measures the average color of small skin, hair, and eye areas as numbers (CIELAB color values). Drape does not create a faceprint or facial-geometry template, does not recognize or identify you, and does not use Face ID or any other biometric identification. Your photo is processed only in memory on your device during the analysis and is discarded immediately afterward; it is never uploaded, and we never receive or store it. Only the resulting color numbers are kept - on your device, and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. This face-derived color data is never sold, shared, or sent to any third party.
Your name, optional photo, color results, and saved garments are stored on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, they sync privately through your own iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). We cannot access your iCloud data.
Drape includes optional AI features: your analysis write-up, garment styling tips, and the Ask Drape stylist chat. When you use them we send only your analyzed color values (color names and numbers, such as your season and recommended colors), a short summary of your saved garments (color values only), and, for the chat, the text of the questions you type. We also send a random device identifier used only to limit abuse. We never send your photos or any face data, your name, or your contacts, and your photos never leave your device. This information is processed by Cloudflare and Anthropic (Claude) to generate the text replies and is not used to identify you. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat.
The AI features are part of Drape Plus, an optional auto-renewing subscription (the one-time unlock covers the on-device features). To keep the AI sustainable, the Ask Drape stylist has a daily limit on the number of questions, and unused days roll over for a short period. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can manage or cancel them anytime in your Apple account settings.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment information.
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
We do not use analytics, ads, or third-party trackers, and we do not sell or share your data.
Drape is not directed at children under 13.
